Meeting of the new Ambulance Corp - March 15, 1964

Mr. Leeds outlined plans to organize an Ambulance
Corp and a discussion followed.
·
It was brought to the attention of all present that
we had three [unreadable] ambulances available at
this time.
1- A donation from Metzlaw.
2- An ambulance in good shape donated equipped by
the Riveredge Volunteer Ambulance Corp thru the effort
of Mr. John Reeth.
3- A vehicle requiring a little more than minor repairs
and a paint job donated by Mr. Paul Ferguson of Sussex,
NJ and which can be converted into an ambulance.

Mr.
Richards addressed those present advising of the seriousness
of the intentions required from any prospective member,
and the need for complete orientation. He also offered
his assistance at any time and mentioned he would
obtain for us, if we desired, a projector and appropriate
films to aid in the educational end.

Mr.
Leeds appointed Mr. McGuire and Mr. Adelberg to attend
Town Hall Meeting of March 16th to discuss possible
name for the Ambulance Corp - a poll of those present
at the meeting indicated the Vernon Township Ambulance
Corp would be desirable.

Mr.
Leeds asked Mr. McGuire to secure any information
available from the Red Cross at Newton (Mrs. Garretson)
which would help in the organization stage.

Mr.
Richards suggested that we try to acquire such items
as old crutches, [unreadable], hospital beds, etc.
and suggested we ask the assistance of local druggist
by asking them to provide (gratis) first aid supplies.
